Almost 100 cars, utilities and motorcycles formed part of the North Eastern Car Club’s highly successful “Show Us Your Car” night, held at the Tarrawingee recreation reserve last week.
An annual event on the club’s calendar, this was by far the largest display held so far and, if last week’s event was any indication, the club can expect an even larger display next year.
Club President, Ron Woodward, said he was amazed at the wide variety of motor vehicles and motorcycles in attendance.
“We’ve more than doubled the amount of vehicles that we attracted last year, and we’re hoping that more car owners will support us in 2016,” Woodward said.
Amongst the rows of Holdens and Fords were an amazingly wide variety of other makes, from tiny Austin A30s and Hillman Imps to an eclectic array of “Yank tanks” from the 1950s and ‘60s.
Ideal warm conditions helped to provide a carnival atmosphere as the cars glistened in the early evening sun. Over 250 people enjoyed the chance to inspect the cars and enjoy a typical Aussie barbecue before the display wound up at dusk.
